Franco Barbeite was born in Havana Cuba in 1973 and immediately distinguished himself artistically by being the youngest winner ever of the Helen Gubair Grant for metal sculpture in 1990. In 1993, at age 19 he optioned his first screenplay and a year later graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts as an Honor's Scholar.
In 2000 Barbeite was first assistant editor on Ed Harris' Academy Award-winning feature Pollock and creative director for the Los Angeles Times Editorial Awards presentation. After designing the look of Universal Televison's hit show Blind Date, he went on to write and produce for USA Broadcasting and FX Channel where he collaborated with 5 time Emmy Award-winning writer Sandy Frank.
Franco became interested in directing, after assisting on music videos directed by Joseph Kahn for artists Foxy Brown and Nas. He has since gone on to direct award-winning spots for clients including MySpace, GBX Shoes, Loews Cinemas, 7-Up and Clear Channel Communications.
