One of the most significant trends in the entertainment industry in the last 5 years has been the popularity of non-fiction entertainment. From reality shows to documentary films, audiences have an appetite for real human drama.
Sirk has been at the forefront of nonfiction production since our awarding winning PBS documentary, The Inside Reel: Digital Filmmaking. The project discussed the impact of digital technology on the film industry with interviews with over 30 top directors, actors and producers including Johnny Depp, Oliver Stone and Jerry Bruckheimer. The documentary won a Telly and Videographer Award and Marilyn Moss of The Hollywood Reporter said that it was "a must see for anyone who loves movies." In 2005 we produced Anytown, USA. The film was a look at local politics in America. The film won 4 major film festivals, was shown theatrically in 12 cities across the nation and was critically acclaimed across the board. Lisa Rose at The Star Ledger gave it 3.5 stars (out of 4) and said it had "more twists than an episode of Lost...its a nail biting drama."
Sirk will confidently tackle any subject matter. From social issues, historical accounts to profiles of interesting people and places. Sirk's nonfiction style can be utilized by corporations and brands to bring an added level of artistic and entertainment value.
